The PharmaMar Foundation opens the call for the 2nd edition of the Argonauta Awards and the 1st edition of grants for complementary training in oncology.

The PharmaMar Foundation, in its mission to promote the development of science, scientific research, and medicine, is opening the call for applications for the 2nd edition of the Argonauta Awards and the 1st edition of grants for complementary training in medical oncology.

Applications can be submitted through the website via the following links: awards and grants. Once the awards are decided by a jury composed of prominent figures from the medical and scientific communities, the prizes will be presented at the end of November.

PharmaMar Foundation Argonauta Awards


In this 2nd edition, the Argonauta Awards once again aim to recognize individuals or projects whose work and dedication have significantly contributed to advancing medicine and healthcare in recent years. Nominations must be submitted by individuals or institutions from the hospital, biomedical scientific, or health sciences fields and may be presented in the following categories:

Awards for Basic and Clinical Research


Application deadline: October 10

These two categories aim to recognize the effort and merit of researchers who have undertaken basic oncology research oriented toward clinical applications or clinical oncology research at any methodological level, contributing significantly to advancements in these areas. Each category includes a financial award of €24,000.

Award for Young Researchers


Application deadline: September 15

This award recognizes and values the effort and merit of researchers under the age of 42 who have excelled in the field of oncology. The award may be granted for contributions to basic research aimed at generating clinically applicable knowledge or for achievements in clinical research. By presenting this award, the PharmaMar Foundation not only highlights a specific project but also acknowledges the developing career and leadership potential of young researchers in an area essential for medical and scientific progress. This award includes a financial grant of €10,000.

Award for Best Clinical Case in PharmaMar Science


Application deadline: October 10

This category seeks to recognize the effort and merit of researchers working in Spain or abroad who dedicate their efforts to advancing innovation in the treatment, management, and understanding of diseases where PharmaMar products play a significant role. It also aims to promote the dissemination of knowledge and scientific advances developed by the PharmaMar Group to the medical community and society at large. This award includes a financial grant of €10,000.

Grants for Complementary Training in Medical Oncology


This year, in addition to the awards, the PharmaMar Foundation has announced two grants to further promote research in the following categories:

Economic support for the complementary training of a fifth-year oncology resident (R5) for the treatment of sarcomas and small-cell lung cancer
Application deadline: September 20

Each grant of €12,000 aims to support the training of medical professionals in oncology, providing the opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge and skills in managing and treating soft tissue sarcomas or small-cell lung cancer. These grants are intended to equip physicians with the necessary competencies to address these complex diseases and raise the standards of care for affected patients.
