Professor Giorgio Vittorio Scagliotti is one of the most influential international figures in contemporary thoracic oncology. A Professor of Oncology at the University of Turin, he has built an exemplary academic and clinical career, leading the Medical Oncology Division at S. Luigi Hospital and serving as Head of the University’s Department of Oncology for several years.

His research has been pivotal in advancing lung cancer treatment, particularly in chemotherapy and targeted therapies. He has coordinated numerous European and international clinical trials and served as a key investigator in landmark studies that shaped therapeutic standards for early-stage non–small cell lung cancer.

Author of more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and editor for major oncology journals, he has contributed to ASCO committees and served as President of the IASLC from 2017 to 2019, reinforcing his global scientific leadership.
