Dr. Mar Galera López has been awarded the Best Clinical Case Science Award by the PharmaMar Group for her innovative work titled “Promising Response to Trabectedin in Metastatic Clear Cell Sarcoma: A Case Report.”

A medical oncologist at the Doctor Peset University Hospital, Dr. Galera has extensive experience in oncology, with a focus on sarcomas, thoracic, and head and neck oncology. She has also participated in Phase I-III clinical trials at prestigious institutions such as the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital and the 12 de Octubre University Hospital in Madrid.

The award-winning clinical case documents the clinical and radiological response to trabectedin in a patient with metastatic clear cell sarcoma and an aggressive clinical course, achieving progression-free survival of 10 months following the failure of multiple prior treatment lines. This study highlights the potential of trabectedin in rare sarcomas associated with genetic translocations and underscores the importance of ongoing research into new therapeutic options for this poor-prognosis disease.
